Facets
These are thin ceramic slices substituting the front (visible) part of teeth. They are stuck into the detrited area of the tooth front. Facets can improve the shape, minor disparities on the surface of a tooth and particularly its color, while minimally impacting the structure of the tooth (0,5-1,Omm).
This is a treatment that is very demanding and requires optimal cooperation from the patient. Teeth stay alive (vital) after the operation. Choosing this type of treatment has, however, some limitations. At your first appointment we will examine if facets are suitable for the specific case in your situation.
Treatment requires two appointments in our surgery. At the first appointment, the tooth is ground, imprinted and provided with temporary facets. At the next appointment, ceramic facets made in a laboratory are fixed onto the adjusted surface of the tooth.
A facet can also be done within one appointment in our surgery; it is made right in the mouth of the patient from a white filling material (resin).

In comparison to ceramics, resin facets are not color-stable, so color-correction has to be done more frequently.
